Marvel’s Multiverse: How It Will Play Out in Upcoming Movies

Marvel’s Multiverse has been a hot topic among fans since it was introduced in the Disney+ series Loki. The concept of multiple universes existing within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has opened up possibilities for the franchise that were previously unthinkable. With the upcoming movies set to explore this new landscape, we are sure to see some thrilling storytelling and exciting new characters.

The Multiverse opens up endless possibilities for the MCU. The concept of alternate realities offers new takes on familiar characters and allows for the introduction of new characters from different universes. It also offers the opportunity to explore different genres and tones within the franchise, expanding the audience appeal.

The first movie set to explore the Multiverse is Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which releases in March 2022. This movie will pick up after the events of WandaVision and Loki and will see Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) team up with Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen). The movie is described as a horror film and will feature returning villains from previous movies, as well as new characters like America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez).

Spider-Man: No Way Home, which releases in December 2021, is thought to be another movie that will heavily feature the Multiverse. Tom Holland’s Peter Parker will team up with previous Spider-Man actors Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield to fight against villains from their universes. This movie will also see the return of Alfred Molina’s Doc Ock and Jamie Foxx’s Electro, who previously appeared in the Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield movies respectively.

The Marvels, set to release in November 2022, will bring together Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) from Captain Marvel, Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) from Ms. Marvel, and Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) from WandaVision. This movie will explore the Multiverse in a different way, with the characters encountering different versions of themselves from alternate universes.

Quantum-Mania, the third Ant-Man movie, will see Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang teaming up with Evangeline Lilly’s Hope Van Dyne as they journey into the Quantum Realm to save Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer). This movie is also set to introduce Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors), who has been confirmed as the main villain in the movie. Kang is a time-traveler with the ability to jump through different realities, so it’s possible that this movie will heavily feature the Multiverse.

While we still don’t know exactly how the Multiverse will play out in these movies and future projects, it’s clear that Marvel has big plans for this concept. With the potential to introduce new characters, explore different genres, and bring back old favorites, the Multiverse has the potential to keep the MCU fresh and exciting for years to come.
